Dubbo is a regional city in the Macquarie Valley and a useful base for the wider Great Western Plains. Begin with the official Destination NSW Dubbo guide (opens in a new tab) for current orientation and travel planning.
Dubbo Regional Council maintains visitor information through its visitor centres and visitor-guide programme. The visitor guide announcement (opens in a new tab) explains where to access up-to-date regional information.
Council acknowledges Wiradjuri people and their Ancestors and Elders. Its Aboriginal Electoral Engagement Strategy (opens in a new tab) provides that official acknowledgment. Respect local cultural guidance and do not present cultural knowledge as a generic visitor product.
Before travelling, check current road, weather, heat, fire and venue information, along with any access or booking requirements. Conditions can change across the region.
